"The brick walls are there for a reason. Right? The brick walls are not there to keep us out, the brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don't want it badly enough," he said in his lecture.

"He lived with such bravado and such love of everybody in his life … but he also showed … that when our time comes, we should have a little bit of Randy inside of us."

There is a natural disaster headed your way. You get 4 standard sized canvas grocery totes to fill with valuables and provisions to bring with you to a safe place. What would you put into your 4 bags and why?

I used to live in NC hurricane central, so this isn't that hard. I was luck enoug to never have had to evacuate, but we always knew what we would need to take in the event that we had to.

bag 1: bottled water, bottled juice, tea bags & instant coffee, sugar, salt/pepper

bag 2: canned tuna, crackers, canned fruit, can opener (manual, thank you- I actually knew someone who was enraged to discover that they couldn't get into their food while the power was out becasue all they had was an electric can opener), dried beef (the stuff in a jar), peanut butter, jelly, plastic utensils, disposable plates, any chocolate and/or chips that are handy

bag 3: pet supplies (I'm NOT leaving my babies behind)

bag 4:toiletries, candles, matches/lighters, flashlights, batteries, radio, books (especially my autographed Special edition of Moonheart by Charled deLint), clothing
